Three 17 MW separate path utility feeds provide redundancy from Texas Instruments DOD grid. This is a priority Medical Grid which was not subject to any rolling power outages during the recent Texas Ice Storm. H5 COLO currently operates three service entrances, providing 17 MW of power capacity, from ONCOR. The facility has a power density of 250 Watts per square foot with redundant power utility feeds delivered underground. This eliminates outages due to wind, snow and ice.

Most Data Centers in the market today, approach Environmental Control through a combination of AirFlow, Temperature, Rack Hygiene and Aisle Air Containment. H5 COLO uses a total containment approach to Environmental Control by using sealed Cabinets with a vertical exhaust duct (aka chimney). This is the most efficient and green way to control heat containment.

H5 offers standard 5 kW upgradeable to 8.6 kW built in. By request H5 has Cabinets utilizing 17 kW. This is through diverse dual path 110v, 208v, and three phase 208v circuits from the diverse electrical service rooms to Cabinets.

Existing circuits are built with 208 three phase 30 amp drops so Cabinets can be field upgraded from 110 volt 20 Amps to 78 Amps (62 Amp Usable) or 208 Volt 20 amps to 41 Amps (33 Amp Usable A). Conversions from 110 to 208 can be done by changing out Cabinet PDUs. All of this while keeping your equipment running. Due to this overbuilding of circuits customers can add additional equipment over their stated need without popping breakers. Unlike other data centers, any circuit overages are billed based on incremental usage.

Although H5 COLO provides an optimized premium blended network to our customers, H5 is a carrier neutral facility. Our Meet Me Room provides access to 6 different providers. H5 COLO always makes it easy to complete cross connects to all carriers.

Multiple layers of security with 24/7/365 on-site personnel with controlled access to all areas. Two separate control systems are used for access, a DSS proximity card system and a C•CURE 9000 for the Data Center (electromagnetic & electric strike). Dual layers of surveillance and recording throughout facility. Combination of Analog and I/P camera systems connect to separate recording protect your mission-critical information assets. 24/7/365 Building security for outside and inside the building.

H5 COLO features a Dry Pipe Double Interlock Pre-action Sprinkler System fire suppression with heat and smoke detection. Each H5 supplied server Cabinet is fitted with heat sensors that alarm the NOC if the temperature reaches above 98 degrees. The NOC will immediately investigate any alarm to mitigate any issue. CO2 Fire Extinguishers are stationed inside the Data Center in case of any fires. Additionally, there are Battery Leak containment and detection systems. Due to thick metal sealed Cabinets any potential fire in a Cabinet is isolated to a single Cabinet.
